I feel
The push and pull
Of our heart strings,
Never in sync
Calling for one another,
Reaching out,
And yet
Pulled by the tide
Of our ever-changing minds
Because we can never decide
Whether we’re right
Or wrong
Or simply “too much”
And the question
Of an imaginary league
Plagues us all,
Making us decide
Whether society says
We can
make it together
Or if we’ll go
down in flames
And yet we remain,
Ever in contact,
Feeling the rhythm
Of our hearts beating
Without feeling them
Next to each other
